Cinco De Mayo with Suerte Tequila

Cinco De Mayo is here and we're celebrating with some tasty tequila drinks courtesy of our friends at Suerte. Instead of a classic marg or just a lime infused cerveza, we're opting for some unique twists. We love any excuse to try out new cocktail recipes and taking them out for a test drive in our backyard, on a picnic with friends, or at the top of the peak we just hiked. Spring has sprung and we are toasting it - Salud!

We've teamed up with Wyoming Whiskey to support The National Park Foundation through a virtual auction celebrating Wyoming’s majestic wide open spaces and National Parks.

WIDE OPEN SPACES AUCTION: April 16-20, 2021

The auction includes four bespoke bottles of Wyoming Whiskey’s new Wide Open Spaces Collection, art directed by Harrison Ford in collaboration with photographer Tuck Fauntleroy and artist Jamison Sellers, as well items from High Camp Flasks, REI, Columbia, Yeti, Nature Valley and more with all proceeds going to the National Park Foundation to preserve wild lands.

Inspired by the auction art director - Harrison Ford - we used our Wyoming Whiskey to make this drink as an ode to his character Han Solo's famous Star Wars ship.

This year we could definitely all use a little luck of the Irish. In honor of one our favorite holidays - because who doesn't love an excuse to drink? - we reached out to Ransom Spirits. Their Emerald 1865 is (technically) an American whiskey, but it's renowned for being close to a classic Irish whiskey... and it's well worth searching for. We figured this made it the perfect choice for our Saint Patrick's Day cocktail. Sláinte!

California Coffee

Our take on the classic "Kentucky Coffee", but with some flavors of west coast life mixed in. We're opting to use a California whiskey, because the South isn't the only place who knows how to make good bourbon! We're particularly fond of Cutwater Spirits bourbon. It also calls for coffee to pep you up and we recommend Drink Coffee Do Stuff Hell Yeah! blend for a little touch of sweet. Lastly, coconut milk, because Californians love our milk alternatives. This delicious drink will warm you up for chilly beach days and it goes down smooth.

In collaboration with Breckenridge Distilling, we tested a bottle of their new Rum Cask Finish Whiskey in one of our go-to cocktails: The Blood & Sand. It calls for Scotch, but this year was all about adapting our appetite to domestic possibilities. The resulting substitution of a smokey scotch for an apple-cinnamon laced whiskey teleported this cocktail into the tiki-verse. After a hot and dusty ride, this cocktail doubled-down on our sentiment that paradise is where you take it.
